Santa Clara Police Partner with Community to Promote Public Safety Awareness

Bay Area Cultural Connections (BAYCC) and Pacifica Institute hosted the second session of the Community Education Lecture Series in partnership with the Santa Clara Police Department (SCPD) on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the BAYCC Community Center in Santa Clara. The program aimed to strengthen connections between residents and law enforcement through open dialogue, safety education, and community partnership.

Attendees received valuable information from SCPD officers on neighborhood safety, crime trends, and practical prevention strategies. Officers shared insights on protecting property, reporting suspicious activity, and preventing theft and vandalism, while emphasizing the importance of lighting, landscaping, and alarms in deterring crime.

Throughout the session, participants actively engaged with thoughtful questions on various safety topics, sparking meaningful dialogue and collaboration with the officers. Participants also learned about SCPD’s community programs and career opportunities within the department.

Santa Clara City Councilmember Albert Gonzalez attended and addressed the gathering, highlighting the value of civic engagement and continued cooperation between law enforcement and residents. He commended SCPD, BAYCC, and Pacifica Institute for their ongoing commitment to building trust and promoting community well-being.

As the event concluded, children had the opportunity to explore a special SCPD police car used for community engagement, adding a fun, memorable highlight to the evening. The program once again reflected the shared goal of fostering a safer, more connected, and informed Santa Clara community through the ongoing Community Education Lecture Series.
