Pacifica Institute and Bay Area Cultural Connections hosted an event as part of Compassion Week. Lady volunteers of BAYCC, Pacifica Institute, and Los Altos United Methodist Church joined hands to prepare Muslim prayer rags, which will be supplied to Santa Clara County Correctional Facilities inmates. Participants used cutting tools and measurement devices to bring up prayer rugs of specific sizes from fabric. The supply material also includes books on spirituality. Organizers hope the prayer rugs will help strengthen inmates’ faith and spirituality.
