Muslim Families and Friends Iftar
A Full Room and a Stronger Connection
On March 12, BAYCC opened its doors to over 80 guests for our Muslim Families and Friends Iftar—an evening that brought together a truly multigenerational group, from toddlers to elders.
We were honored to welcome Fatima Kaneez from ICNA Relief USA, who spoke before iftar about the importance of supporting relief efforts and acknowledged the ongoing involvement of BAYCC volunteers in ICNA’s work. Her message emphasized not only the impact of service, but also the value of collaboration between local organizations.
Many attendees expressed their appreciation—some noting that they hadn’t realized such a community space existed in Santa Clara. That awareness is growing, and so is the sense of belonging.

As the sun set, the call to prayer was followed by a lively iftar dinner. All chairs were in use, and the venue buzzed with conversation and connection. Despite a few last-minute dashes to find dates and bottled water, the night ran smoothly and left a strong impression on those who attended.
We’re already looking ahead to future gatherings, including topic-specific retreats and volunteer preparation sessions ahead of next Ramadan. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this night to life.
