Foster Care and the unhoused
At the BayCC, we are committed to fostering positive connections that bridge divides and strengthen the fabric of our communities. As part of this mission, our Community Service initiative actively engages with vulnerable groups, including homeless individuals and children in foster care, to provide support and build pathways for empowerment.
Children, youth, and young adults living in shelters or on the streets face numerous challenges that affect their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. These include mental health issues, substance abuse, educational barriers, safety concerns, violence, economic hardship, and social isolation.
Making a Difference
We offer the following activities in collaboration with shelters, churches, and other partner organizations:

Storytelling sessions
Homework help
Academic and creative support
Dinner and breakfast services
Sock and clothing drives
Kitchen support
Laundry and shower assistance
Preparing school supplies
Through these activities, we aim to inspire the community to take a more proactive role in supporting these individuals, becoming their advocates, and building meaningful connections to help them on their journey toward a better future.
A Community of Care
Our foster care and homeless outreach team is made up of dedicated volunteers, including meal providers, artists, teachers, and individuals from diverse backgrounds, all united by a shared commitment to supporting these communities. We organize a variety of activities aimed at cultivating compassion, building resilience, and helping individuals overcome their challenges. By sharing insights, building trust, and fostering meaningful relationships, we aspire to contribute to a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Through direct engagement with those in need, we strive to create a collective story of compassion, empowerment, and hope.
