Thanksgiving Meal Service with AAi at RV Parking
Abrahamic Alliance International (AAi) brought together BAYCC, the Jewish Community Relations Council, and The River Church Community for a collaborative Thanksgiving meal service supporting unhoused neighbors in San Jose. Hosted at BAYCC on November 23, volunteers from Muslim, Jewish, and Christian communities united to carve turkeys, prepare mashed potatoes and salad, slice pumpkin pie, assemble 260 boxed Thanksgiving dinners, and prepare hot apple cider. After completing the preparation, volunteers shared the Thanksgiving meal together, strengthening interfaith friendships and reflecting the gratitude and solidarity among the participating communities.
Volunteers who signed up for food distribution then delivered all 260 Thanksgiving dinner boxes to residents at the RV Safe Parking site on Berryessa Road in San Jose. Organizers hoped that offering a Thanksgiving dinner with turkey would be especially meaningful for neighbors who may not have the facilities to prepare such a meal themselves. This collaborative effort highlighted Pacifica Institute’s and BAYCC’s commitment to interfaith partnership and compassionate service, demonstrating how shared actions can bring communities together while supporting neighbors in need.
