Paint With Coffee Workshop Inspires Creativity

BAYCC and Pacifica Institute, in partnership with Erguvan Art & Academy, hosted a creative and inspiring “Paint With Coffee” Workshop on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the BAYCC Community Center in Santa Clara. The event invited families and art lovers to explore painting with coffee ink as a natural medium, blending creativity with community connection.

Guided by Erguvan Art & Academy’s mission, “Art will save the world,” the session was led by artists Dilara Sarigoz and Esra Nur Altun, who demonstrated how to use coffee as ink to create expressive, monochromatic works. Participants learned layering and shading techniques while enjoying a warm, collaborative atmosphere.

A parallel children’s session in a separate room allowed young participants to create their own coffee art pieces under friendly guidance. Complimentary coffee and snacks added to the event’s cozy, engaging spirit.

Dr. Ali Karatay, Executive Director of Erguvan Art & Academy, joined the program and shared reflections on the power of art to inspire and unite. As a highlight, he presented guests with a copy of his coffee portrait of Pope Francis, along with a letter from the Pope in appreciation of the artwork.

The “Paint With Coffee” Workshop reflected the shared mission of BAYCC, Pacifica Institute, and Erguvan Art & Academy—to nurture creativity, dialogue, and togetherness through accessible art experiences that remind us how art can truly connect hearts and communities.
