Interfaith Thanksgiving Dinner at St Mark’s UMC

An event co-organized by Pacifica Institute, BAYCC, and Saint Mark’s Church took place with over 150 attendees. Participants included members of Saint Mark’s, BAYCC, other Muslim communities, representatives from Beth Shalom, and members of the Bahá’í community.

Throughout the program, faith leaders reflected on the meaning of gratitude, emphasizing how beautiful and meaningful it is for believers and people from diverse faith traditions to gather, connect, and strengthen mutual understanding. The value of unity and togetherness was a central theme of the event.

Guests enjoyed Turkish tea served from a samovar, which attracted significant attention, as well as Afghan pilaf, which was especially loved by participants. The table decorations were also highly praised, adding elegance and warmth to the overall atmosphere.

Cultural dishes, thoughtful decoration, and warm conversations contributed to a welcoming and memorable experience for everyone.

Toward the end of the gathering, plans were discussed for future introductions and meetings with Beth Shalom. Additionally, Muslim faith leaders expressed a strong interest in forming a partnership for ongoing interfaith collaboration, aiming to continue organizing joint interfaith events.
