Multifaith Voices for Peace & Justice organized an interfaith prayer event on “Our Journey Through Life and Death,” on June 11, 2024, at the First Palo Alto United Methodist Church in Palo Alto, CA. Hosted by Reverend Burke Owens, the event began with a welcome address and passages from the Bible. Speakers included Hilal Cansizoglu from Bay Area Cultural Connections, representing the Muslim tradition, who discussed a prayerful conversation with Allah on facing death in life. And Caroline Pietrangelo Owens from the Ridhwan School, who also guided a practice for peaceful presence. The gathering aimed to foster peace through reflective conversations and guided practices, concluding with communal prayers led by Reverend Burke Owens.
